My name is Paula Ray and I am the Director at St. Philip’s Preschool. I have been at St. Philip’s since 1997 and have been the Director since 1999. I attended Texas Tech University and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies, specializing in Early Childhood Education, Special Education and Child Nutrition. I have a Texas Teaching Certificate and I taught Head Start/PreK in the Lubbock Independent School District for 5 years.

 

In 1990 I began working in Weekday Ministries as a PreK Teacher at Lake Ridge United Methodist Church in Lubbock, Texas.

 

I love working at St. Philip’s, it's the greatest job in the world! Over the last 20 years I have had the privilege of getting to know so many children, parents and even grandparents of those who have attended the Preschool. I am also blessed by a great staff who work hard to provide the best early education experience for all our children.

 

On a personal note, I have 3 grown daughters, Erin, Meagan and Kristen. Meagan and Kristen both attended St. Philip’s Preschool many years ago. We are a family of Texas Tech graduates and we love our Red Raiders. When I'm not watching Texas Tech sports, I enjoy traveling and shopping for treasures in thrift stores.
