St. Philip's Preschool COVID-19 Response
2021-2022
We are grateful for the continued trust and confidence from our families and St. Philip's UMC. Our number one priority has always been maintaining a safe environment for your children. We understand and share the continued concern about COVID-19 and its effects on your families and our way of life. We want to provide you with the information you need to make the best decisions for yourself and your loved ones.
Below you will find the measures we're taking to keep the children, their families and the staff members safe. These precautions are subject to change based on the guidelines of the local and state health agencies or best practices for childcare. We will get through this situation by working together and remaining focused on doing the right things.
DROP OFF AND PICK-UP PROCEDURES
Our drop off and pick up routines are designed to ensure that children, parents and staff stay healthy and safe. We will conduct drop off and pick up of children from the school's entrance on the Racine Trail Drive side of the building. A sign in table is located outside of the building, staff members will escort your child to their classroom. Part of the drop off procedure will include a quick temperature screening to ensure your child does not have a fever above 100.4 degrees Fahrenheit or other symptoms of illness. For pick up, a teacher will bring your child back to the table to be signed out. Please be mindful of keeping a six foot distance from others during drop off and pick up and we encourage adults to wear a face mask.
PRACTICING SOCIAL DISTANCING
We will practice social distancing whenever possible throughout the day. Your children will remain in the classroom or on the playground only with their teachers and classmates. For added safety, different classes will not interact with one another, and all special events and activities will be modified.
KEEPING AREAS CLEAN
Our teachers will implement an even more rigorous cleaning routine, and all high touch surfaces and objects will be sanitized regularly throughout the day.
PERSONAL PROTECTIVE EQUIPMENT
As of August 2021, St. Philip's Preschool requires the wearing of non-medical grade face coverings for all staff when caring for children, and encourages children to wear a face mask when possible. We acknowledge that this may be difficult with young children, but we feel it is an important part of protecting everyone. We encourage you to talk with your preschooler to help familiarize children with the idea of seeing their teachers and friends wearing masks.
